Linear relations contribute to the study of many aspects of operator theory. In this talk, we will focus on idempotent linear relations and, in particular, on those idempotent relations with invariant domain, called multivalued projections. We shall see that, in many aspects, multivalued projections can be seen as the linear relation counterpart of the class of projection operators. We will present several properties of idempotent relations and some applications.
