Ricci flow on open surfaces

We review the recent results of Ricci flow on open surfaces. We also recall some facts about the convergence theory of Riemannian metrics and the maximum principle tricks used in the study of Ricci flows. We give proofs of the convergence of the global Ricci flow on the plane.
