Magnetic structures of reduced dimensions (nanowires, thin films) attract a lot of attention because of their applications to magnetic storage and logic devices. In this talk we will determine the limiting form of the free energy governing (via an asymptotic analysis) in the first case 3-D ferromagnetic nanowires of infinite length in the limit and in the second case 3-D thin films which become infinite when their thickness is vanished.
